The holographic circus that entertains the young Neal siblings is the same one that Chewbacca’s family watched in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). AniMat’s insane animated feature Cast: Stupid Old Death Bear (2022). I know there’s going to be a lot of hate directed at this show due to the recent ups and downs of Star Wars, so I’m happy to say it’s an upswing. So far…The first 2 episodes aren’t new or very original, but that doesn’t matter because everything fits together perfectly. The actors and their acting are great, the costumes/set design are probably the best we’ve seen since Andor, the writing, especially the hilarious banter between the kids, was good. Again, nothing new, but it’s still intriguing, and I can’t wait to watch more. It gives me some heavy Treasure Planet vibes. As someone who didn’t like the recent Star Wars myself, I was pleasantly surprised by Skeleton Crew. I hope anyone who’s even slightly interested or even upset by the recent shows gives it a chance. Don’t let the “for kids” talk put you off. Star Wars is made for everyone, and this one is too.
